We make a limited quantity for each event. When we sell out, we sell out!
What Is a Malasadas?
A malasada is a light, fluffy Portuguese-inspired pastry made famous in Hawaii. The dough is fried until golden, then rolled in sugar while it is still warm. Unlike a traditional doughnut, a malasada has no hole and is best enjoyed hot and fresh from the fryer.
At Drew’s Malasadas, we try to honor the traditional Hawaiian-style malasadas our family fell in love with while also making them our own. Along with classic sugar and cinnamon sugar, we offer custom dustings and rotate seasonal flavors throughout the year. When possible, we use local ingredients to create limited-time flavors inspired by the season.
Every malasada is fried fresh to order in small batches, so it reaches you warm, light, and fluffy.
Our Story
I lived in Hawaii as a child, where malasadas quickly became a family favorite. To this day, they are one of the first things we get whenever we return to the islands.
Although our entire family loved our time in Hawaii, my dad, Drew, especially connected with the warmth, community, and spirit of aloha. Drew’s Malasadas is named in his honor and inspired by the memories our family made there.
As a JMU student and small-business owner, I am excited to share that experience by serving hot, fresh malasadas—made to order, one small batch at a time.
